The store welcomed the new handcrafted bespoke jukebox that has a catalog with over 143 songs from retro Latin-pop artists like Los Angeles Negros, Pastor Lopez, Hector Lavoe, Sandro, and Jose Jose. The jukebox has Baque’s name displayed and handcrafted in the UK. The retro jukebox invites customers to take a step back in time and enjoy music records with black and white photography from the 1980’s. The playlist was curated by Latin-pop group Los Angeles Negros.
“The Record Store Day is an event that will be happening every Saturday in April.” said an Awake NY sales representative. “We are celebrating the new 2025 Spring Collection and the new addition with Awake NY’s vintage clothing collection. The jukebox is a permanent addition to the store,” he said.
The clothing store continues to deliver retro vibes with a white retro refrigerator with polaroids of the employees. The store had a matcha station that sold hand-crafted matches starting at $6. Awake’s new 2025 men’s clothing line has everything from jeans, hoodies, hats, socks, t-shirts, and sneakers. Behind the register, shoppers can see the custom Awake NY and Marshall speakers and see the new Awake NY lighters and keychains in the window case. The sneakers were a January 2023 collection with Awake NY /ASICS Gel-NY.
The walls are lace with black graffiti to show their hip-hop roots, and records from groups like Mobb Deep, that are available for purchase. The vintage collection has vintage leather pieces like the Awake NY’s and Coca-Cola jacket and the pieces from the Awake NY Fall and Winter 2024 collection with Vansom leathers, and Jordan Part, II.
Awake NY will have an upcoming collaboration with merchandise process by Baque for the 2025 Family Style Food Festival on May 17th in Brooklyn. According to Baque’s Instagram, “The goal is for the brand to be all about community, and using fashion and art as tools for social impact.”
