Chicago community leader and activist, Jeff Beckham Jr. shares
his journey as an artist and how it ties into storytelling and activism.
Art, like any other form of creative expression is a free-yielding form of freedom. With each brush stroke, the artist chooses their source of inspiration both externally and internally. Creative inspiration can be as simple as listening to traffic passing by on the street, or as complex as social and economic discrimination.
Chicago-native, Jeffrey Beckham Jr. has no shortage of inspiration. His professional background includes sitting as the interim CEO of Chicago Scholars, an organization geared towards getting first-generation youth prepared for college, supported through the duration of their college career, and equipping them with the tools necessary to be successful.
