Atlanta, GA – The music industry has long been shaped by Black women, yet their contributions often go unrecognized. That changes now. The Black Women in Music Summit is making its highly anticipated debut in Atlanta—a city known for its rich, Black musical legacy. This two-day event will unite artists, executives, managers, and creatives for an experience centered on empowerment, networking, mentorship, and transformative discussions.
On March 28, attendees will gather at Pandora Atlanta Headquarters, where Black women artists will receive expert guidance on elevating their careers. The evening will feature live music feedback sessions, networking opportunities, and thought-provoking discussions, including:
- ● Fireside Chat with The BoykinZ (in collaboration with Women in Music Atlanta)
- ● Black Women Who Make Music Panel – Insights from seasoned Black female artists
on navigating the industry’s challenges and successes
On March 29, the conversation continues at The Bakery CoWork—a Black woman-owned coworking space—where Female Manager Co will host a full day of programming. This includes:
- ● Panels with industry leaders
- ● Mentorship sessions with A&Rs, marketing, and PR professionals
- ● Mental Health & Wellness Discussion – Navigating the pressures of the industry
A Vision Turned Movement
“After years of navigating the industry and watching Black women shape culture while fighting for recognition, I knew we needed a space where our voices aren’t just heard—they are amplified, respected, and celebrated.”
— Jocelyn A. Rivera, CEO & Founder of Female Manager Co. & The PressPlay Agency
What started as a virtual event series, “Get A Female Manager,” where Jocelyn Rivera interviewed Black women in music, has now grown into a full-fledged movement. Demand led to live events in New York, and soon after, the “Black Women in Music” series was born. Past panelists and mentors have included executives from Atlantic Records, Audiomack, RCA Records, Warner Music Group, Roc Nation, and SoundCloud.
Now, with the launch of the Black Women in Music Summit, this initiative reaches its next milestone—establishing a dedicated space for Black women to thrive, connect, and be celebrated.
“This event is an ode to the Black women who work tirelessly behind the scenes yet are rarely given their flowers. It’s about reclaiming our power, celebrating our worth, and leveling up in our careers.”
