Can you share your journey to becoming an attorney and what inspired you to choose this profession?
For as long as I can remember I wanted to be an attorney! It was my routine response to the usual “What do you want to be when you grow up?” question from as early as five years old. In grade school, I discovered my genuine love for reading and natural talent for writing. I was later blessed with amazing high school teachers who recognized my talents and encouraged me to pursue higher education. Law was such a natural choice for me.
Are there any upcoming events, initiatives, or projects that our readers should be on the lookout for in your career?
The Law Office of Natalie K. Howard just celebrated ten years in business! We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished for the citizens of metro Atlanta over the past decade. This year, our primary focus will remain steadfast on providing high-quality representation in the areas of Family Law and Business Litigation for our select number of clients. I’m also excited to announce that a second law firm is now in the works! The new law firm will focus on real estate and HOA collections.
How can our readers get in touch with you for legal advice or consultations?
Call us 24/7 at 678-252-2150 or email us at info@nkhlegal.com. Readers can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram at @nkhlegal. Feel free to DM/message us regarding your legal matters, day or night.
As we kick off Black History Month, what is one thing you plan to do differently for your community or clients?
We’re making efforts to educate families on how to navigate common custody, child support, and visitation issues that keep so many folks’ names on the court dockets each year. Make no mistake, when it’s time to fight, we will fight for you – all gas, no brakes! However, every parenting disagreement does not require a court filing. Divorced parties and unmarried co-parents must get the help they need to heal from past wounds and develop basic conflict resolution skills.
How has the legal landscape evolved recently, and how has it impacted your approach to law?
More and more people are falling victim to defamation, revenge porn, and disparaging facts posted about them online. I’ve seen an uptick in the number of potential clients who seek to remove false statements and other professionally damaging materials from the internet. Our firm now sues irresponsible, malicious posters and works with private investigators and online image professionals to legally hide or remove problematic information from online sources.
What advice would you give to those who are considering a career in law?
If you enjoy helping people, researching, issue spotting, reading/writing, and challenging the status quo, then a law career may be the perfect choice for you. Just remember that to whom much is given, much is required, so you must be willing to work hard, be a leader, and accept a high level of professional responsibility. That said, I love what I do! Lawyering is one of the most challenging yet rewarding careers, and if asked, I’d choose law again and again.
