It’s 5:30 AM, and Rasheedah Brown, affectionately known as RB The Realtor, starts her day bright and early. A former schoolteacher turned real estate powerhouse, she begins her morning with a fulfilling breakfast with her family of pancakes or waffles, beef bacon, and fresh fruit—to fuel up for the busy day ahead. As she sips her orange juice, she sends out key emails, confirming appointments and preparing for property showings.

By 10 AM, RB is en route to a scheduled showing. She arrives early to ensure everything is in place—turning on the lights, preparing sign-in sheets, and reviewing the listing details one last time. When prospective buyers arrive, she provides a personalized tour, highlighting the home’s features, the benefits of the surrounding community, and its potential for appreciation.

“I believe in not only selling homes, but also educating buyers to navigate the complexities of the purchasing process.” said RB.” I take the time to guide clients who may not yet be financially ready, emphasizing the importance of mortgage pre-approval, credit readiness, and realistic budgeting,” she said

With nine active listings and four properties under contract, RB’s commitment to her clients is unwavering. One of her properties is a two-family property in Nassau County, Long Island, with six bedrooms and three bathrooms. RB actively has several potential buyers when working with potential clients. When closing a deal, RB can encounter clients with red flags before closing a potential deal.

“When I notice these red flags, I take the time to educate and guide, helping them understand the home buying process,” she said. “Some red flags can be a sign of not being fully prepared to purchase a property,” said RB. “Some examples of red flags that are major key concerns include unclear financial readiness. This is a situation where a buyer has not been pre-approved for a mortgage. Pre-approval is a crucial step to ensure they can make a competitive offer.”  she said.

Her journey into real estate education began in 2014 when she fully transitioned from teaching to real estate. Since then, she has collaborated with organizations such as Chase Bank, Dime Community Bank, Citibank, and Columbia University to provide workshops on credit building, homeownership, and investment strategies. In 2021, she joined the Executive Board of the Greater Harlem Real Estate Board (GHREB), where she continues to advocate for equitable housing opportunities.

On March 15th, 2024 RB hosted the Women’s History Month: Women, Assets, and Real Estate Summit in partnership with Chase Bank. This annual seminar celebrating empowerment of women during Women’s History Month. This annual educational seminar is a chance for people interested in entering the world of real estate or looking for help in purchasing a home.

The event featured many powerhouse guest panel, including, Rashedah Henriques –NYC Department of Education math teacher and credit coach. She provided helpful advice on what credit is and credit improvement, Jacqueline Plaza, Vice President of Lending at Chase Bank, offered insights into homeownership programs, Ritu Saheb, Licensed architect, discussed structural considerations for home buyers, and Karina De La Cruz, CEO of K Force Construction, a minority and women-owned construction company.

“My goal is to create a one-stop shop for my clients, offering them access to a network of trusted real estate-related services providers, so they don’t have to go searching for the resources. “ said RB.

“ I want my clients to feel like they have an experienced partner who is dedicated to helping them successfully navigate every set of their real estate transactions,” she said.

RB is hosting two upcoming events this summer. On May 1st, 2025, there will be The Real Estate & Entrepreneur Networking Event at The Dean NYC. The networking event will help connect the best in real estate. These events also provide free complimentary professional headshots for beginning real estate professionals.

On July 12th, 2025, is The 2025 Real Estate Expo Financial Literacy Summit at City College. This event is a collaborative event with community organizations like Harlem Congregation for Community Improvements, Inc. providing various sessions on multifamily property ownership and co-op apartments and Landlord 101 with organizations like HUD, and other New York City housing organizations.

As the day winds down at 8 PM, RB returns home to decompress. A cup of tea in hand, she reflects on the day’s successes while preparing for the next. She follows up on client communications and finalizes appointment schedules, and meal preps to ensure she stays organized for another productive day ahead.

For RB, real estate is more than a job, it’s a mission to empower individuals and families through homeownership. I want them to leave the show with a positive feeling about the property. I want to be not just a realtor, but also a seasonal investor who can provide valuable insight into the market.”
