Tika Sumpter is currently captivating audiences on her book tour for her new children’s release, I Got It From My Mama. Sumpter is the epitome of grace, elegance, and creative versatility. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Sumpter during her stop in Atlanta, Georgia. The atmosphere was truly electric as fans and families gathered around eagerly waiting for her arrival. When she took the stage, her undeniable warmth and magnetic presence instantly filled the room. She didn’t just read her story, but she also shared the heartfelt journey behind it. Inspired and rooted in the love she shares with her daughter Ella, I Got It From My Mama beautifully highlights a reflection of love, empowerment, and the deep bond of motherhood connection.

When asked what advice she would offer her younger self, especially as someone who has worn so many hats in the industry, she shared an inspiring message: “You can do it! Don’t ever give up and always remember the tenacity and grit you always had. Never stop believing in yourself because your time will come.”
