Visionary Business Leader and Brand Strategist to Drive Cultural Impact and Global Expansion

In The Black Network (ITBN), a hybrid TVOD + AVOD streaming service founded by renowned television producer, filmmaker, and entertainment industry executive James DuBose, highlights original stories and authentic voices from across the Black diaspora and communities of color, proudly announces the appointment of Chanel Nicole Scott as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). A trailblazing business leader with a proven record in brand strategy, digital growth, and audience engagement, Scott joins ITBN’s executive team at a pivotal moment in the network’s evolution. Her appointment underscores ITBN’s commitment to building a media ecosystem where culture, ownership, and innovation converge.

Scott brings more than a decade of leadership in marketing and entrepreneurship, backed by an MBA and a portfolio that spans tech, media, and content production. As the founder of a multi-million-dollar tech startup, she achieved profitability within its first year—scaling rapidly through innovative audience strategies and digital storytelling. Her ability to grow brands across industries has made her a respected force in both creative and corporate spaces.

Through her company, Chanel Scott Production House, she has cultivated a slate of content that explores the complexities of relationships and personal growth. Under that banner, Scott created CheMinistry, the nationally recognized relationship brand and hit show that aired on Fox Soul, along with its spin-off series Relationships Matter, which premiered on In The Black Network. The production house also develops books, journals, and card games that tackle issues like relationship trauma, healing, and postpartum depression—providing audiences with tools to reflect, connect, and heal.

“Chanel’s appointment marks the next chapter for ITBN as we redefine what’s possible in the streaming landscape,” states James DuBose, Founder of In The Black Network. “Her exceptional ability to drive growth and engagement through cultural fluency will be key as we open new avenues of authentic storytelling and broaden our international reach.”

Chanel Nicole Scott shares her enthusiasm about the opportunity. “Being part of a groundbreaking company like In The Black Network is more than just a professional opportunity—it’s a cultural mission. We’re shifting who controls the narrative and how our stories are told. It’s time to put the power back into our hands—and I’m honored to help lead that movement.”
