What do Black Panther, Creed, and Sinners all have in common? The dynamic duo: director Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan.
Introducing Sinners, the newest film that features twin brothers (Jordan) returning to their hometown to start life over again, only to discover a greater evil awaiting. “You keep dancing with the devil, one day he’s gonna follow you home.”
Written by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Coogler, Sinners features an all-star cast including Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (“Bumblebee,” “True Grit”), Jack O’Connell (“Ferrari”), Wunmi Mosaku (“Passenger”), Jayme Lawson (“The Woman King”), Omar Miller (“True Lies”), and Delroy Lindo (“Da 5 Bloods”).
On Friday, April 4th, Sheen had the pleasure of attending the Sinners virtual press conference, which featured Ryan Coogler, Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Jack O’Connell, Miles Caton, Delroy Lindo, Omar Miller, and Li Jun Li.
The vibes were immaculate, with everyone laughing and genuinely enjoying each other’s company.
Michael B. Jordan had kind words for Coogler: “Especially with this one, being the first movie I’ve done since I directed my first film, just having a deeper sense of empathy what Ryan has to go through on a day to day basis. All the hats he must wear, the amount of places he has to be at the same time. Especially on this one, for my to be an extra set of eyes for him, help where I can or anticipate his movements or needs, allowed us to get a little bit more done.”
He adds, “Especially when time is always an issue on set in general. Just a mutual understanding, I can’t really explain the non-verbal communication we have that’s only gotten better over the years.”
Sinners film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, in theaters only nationwide on April 18th.
