This remix marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Dennis Brown’s enduring legacy as the first of many releases under the refreshed Yvonne’s Special Label. Yvonne’s Special, named after Dennis’ beloved wife Yvonne Brown, symbolizes the inspiration she brought to his life and music, and serves as a tribute to their collaboration on songs like “Words of Wisdom,” “Rasta Children,” and “Love Has Found Its Way.”
Scheduled for release today, January 31, 2025, the single coincides with what would have been Dennis Brown’s 68th birthday on February 1st and serves as the perfect kickoff to Jamaica’s Reggae Month, honoring the “Crown Prince of Reggae” and his invaluable contributions to the genre.
This release is brought to life by Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Salaam Remi, whose groundbreaking work with artists like Alicia Keys, Nas, Miguel, The Fugees, and Amy Winehouse has made him a luminary in the music industry. Salaam Remi’s Analog Metaverse handles administration for Dennis Brown’s estate and has partnered with Warner Chappell Music to manage Dennis Brown’s vast songwriting catalog.
The “Where Did the Love Go (Salaam Remi Remix)” will be available across all digital streaming platforms, giving fans old and new a chance to connect with the timeless artistry of Dennis Brown through the lens of Salaam Remi’s masterful production.
