What made you want to create a luxury bonnet & durag line?
Khavy’ was born during the pandemic, and I’ll never forget the day it came to me. I was lying on a bed in Mississippi, staring at the ceiling, when God placed the vision in my heart and mind. I knew at that moment that this would serve a greater purpose.-K.H.A.R.I.S. CEO and Founder
Having struggled with Epilepsy for 16 years, I faced significant challenges finding comfortable headwear. Many store-bought durags caused severe migraines and triggered seizures, making it nearly impossible to wear them for long periods. This personal struggle sparked the idea to create something that not only offered comfort to me but to others facing similar challenges.
Khavy’ was created with the intent to provide a solution—a luxury bonnet and durag line designed for both comfort and style, while being mindful of those with specific health needs. It’s a blend of purpose and passion, crafted to make a difference in the lives of those who deserve to feel good and be comfortable at the same time.
What is the meaning behind Khavy?
The name Khavy’ is an acronym that stands for Keeping Heads Amplified and Versatile for Your Pleasure. This embodies the core principles behind the brand, which revolves around three key aspects: Haircare, Health, and Beauty. Our goal is to create products that not only enhance the health of your hair but also provide comfort and style, all while promoting well-being and confidence.
Where do you see Khavy in 5 years?
In five years, I see Khavy’ expanding far beyond just a fashion brand—it will be a culture. I envision people wearing it not only on red carpets but also in their everyday lives, from urban neighborhoods to global cities. Khavy’ will become a worldwide phenomenon, continually evolving as we move through time, adapting to new trends while staying true to the core values of comfort, style, and purpose.
