It is said that good things come in three’s because a set of three demonstrates perfection. Seeing a set of three is considered an impeccable synchronicity in numerology. Moreover, in astrology, the 3rd House is ruled by Mercury and Gemini’s—the energy of communication, connection, and sharing. Satisfaction and harmony also lie within the power or rule of three.

The F.E.W. are a collection of trailblazing women in entertainment, that are an embodiment of those concepts, who are mastering Las Vegas’ mic’s and conquering DJ booths. In such a dynamic and exclusive industry, the energy of the elements can be very helpful on ones journey. Notaboi DJ represents Fire in The F.E.W., while DJ Kelly J is giving Earth and Angie T On Air is serving Wind—these women make up the triplicity that are The F.E.W. They stay connected with the community via various music related social events, whether it be DJing at a NAACP Ball, curating a high vibrational playlist on Power 88.1 KCEP or hosting a crowd of partygoers at local hot spot, Mariposa. The F.E.W.’s ability to communicate the culture to the Las Vegas community is a necessity.

While Vegas is their homefield for entertainment, the trio of women are blessed, booked, and busy running up bookings in various places across the nation, amassing tales to tell. The triad have sizzling stories and situations to share, coupled with industry insights and vital information that must be documented. Committed to connecting, the ladies have co-authored what they have described as being, “A powerful manifesto for anyone that is ready to smash through barriers and claim their space in the spotlight.”

SHEEN Magazine caught up with the threesome at a Black Owned book and vinyl mecca—The Analog Dope Store, as the ladies discussed their work with artisan baker, author, and host Mr. Grand Jeremy. November 29th marks the debut of Bars & Beats: Ladies of the Night—A Fierce Guide To Owning Your Power in Music, Radio, and Event Hosting. The book is comprised of eight chapters, the authors are dubbing as tracks, that are packed with street smart tips, jaw-dropping stories, and striking visuals. The F.E.W. were inspired to pen this manuscript to celebrate the ambition, hustle, and unstoppable force of women in entertainment.

Chicago native, NotaboiDJ highlights her rise from being a star in the corporate world to acquiring DJ stardom and describes how passion, persistence and tribe fuel her drive. DJ Kelly J, one of Detroit’s finest, is professing that you cannot cheat the universe and is adamant about how mastering your craft and crushing goals are a few ethos she stands on business about. Angie T On Air representing Louisville, unleashes secrets to commanding stages, unapologetic living, and confidently transforming paths.
