What led you to start a career as a tax professional, and can you share a pivotal moment or experience that influenced your choice?

My journey as a Relationship Coach began when I found myself in a relationship where I realized the other person lacked the emotional awareness and self-mastery necessary for a healthy connection. It was a pivotal moment for me because, while I had worked on my growth and self-discovery, it became clear how essential emotional intelligence is on both sides. That experience pushed me to not only continue my journey but also help others understand the power of self-awareness in relationships. I knew I wanted to guide people through unlearning unhealthy patterns and developing the tools needed to foster meaningful, lasting connections.

As a tax professional, what continues to drive your passion for this field, and how do you stay motivated year after year?

As a Relationship Coach, what drives my passion year after year is witnessing the transformations people go through when they start discovering themselves. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see individuals unlearn the limiting beliefs and unhealthy patterns that have held them back and relearn new, empowering ways to connect with themselves and others. Every breakthrough my clients experience reignites my commitment to this work. What keeps me motivated is knowing that emotional wellness and self-discovery are ongoing journeys, and every relationship is an opportunity for growth. I also stay inspired by continuing my personal growth, learning new tools, staying up to date on research, and evolving as a coach so I can better serve my clients. Helping others find clarity, healing, and purpose in their relationships continues to fuel my passion.

Who are some of your inspirational role models within the tax industry, and how have they influenced your approach to tax planning and advising?

Some of my most inspirational role models include Iyanla Vanzant, Dr. Gary Chapman (the creator of the 5 Love Languages), and my mentor Kiaundra Jackson. Iyanla Vanzant’s powerful work on healing and self-empowerment has deeply influenced my belief in the importance of emotional mastery and self-discovery in relationships. Her ability to guide people through transformative emotional journeys is something I incorporate into my coaching practice, always encouraging my clients to do the inner work. Dr. Gary Chapman’s 5 Love Languages has been a game-changer for how I help individuals and couples understand their emotional needs and communication styles. His work is a cornerstone of how I approach advising my clients, helping them learn how to express love and connection in ways that resonate with their partners. Lastly, my mentor Kiaundra Jackson has had a profound impact on my career. She’s not only given me valuable tools and strategies for coaching but also continuously inspires me to grow, both personally and professionally. Together, these incredible individuals have shaped how I plan, advise, and guide others on their journey toward emotional wellness and fulfilling relationships.

Can you discuss how the tax industry has evolved and changed over the past few decades, including any notable shifts or trends from 10 years ago and 20 years ago?

The relationship coaching industry has seen significant shifts over the past 20 years. Two decades ago, coaching was still somewhat niche, with much of the focus on traditional counseling or therapy. People were more likely to seek professional help only when things were falling apart in their relationships, rather than seeing it as an ongoing, proactive approach to emotional wellness and personal growth. Fast forward 10 years, and we started seeing a growing emphasis on self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the importance of effective communication in relationships. The rise of social media also allowed people to access more resources and conversations around mental health and relationships, which began to break down the stigma associated with seeking help. In more recent years, the industry has evolved to focus even more on emotional wellness, self-discovery, and the importance of understanding one’s core beliefs and needs in relationships. Notable trends include the popularization of tools like the 5 Love Languages, the growing awareness around attachment styles, and a greater focus on men’s emotional well-being—an area that has been overlooked for far too long. There’s also been a shift toward more accessible coaching formats, like virtual sessions, online communities, and digital content, making it easier for people to seek support wherever they are.

If our readers were looking to work with you as a tax professional, what characteristics or traits should they possess?  For example – Do you primarily serve self-employed individuals, low-income earners, high-wage earners, or a diverse client base?

I work with a diverse client base, including corporate clients, youth, and individuals from all walks of life. What’s most important for anyone looking to work with me is their willingness to commit to personal growth and self-discovery. Whether you’re self-employed, a corporate professional, a high-wage earner, or even a young person starting to navigate relationships, the key traits that lead to success in my coaching are openness, self-reflection, and a genuine desire to create healthier, more fulfilling connections. I also love working with individuals and organizations that are ready to unlearn old patterns and invest in their emotional wellness. It’s less about where you are financially or professionally and more about your mindset and readiness to do the inner work. Whether it’s within a corporate structure or for personal development, I believe emotional growth can have a transformative impact on all areas of life.

Share with our reader what’s next for you.  For example – I am going to publish a book, I have an event, I am…

What’s next for me is full of exciting projects! I’m continuing to host my monthly mixers in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where men and women come together to share their perspectives on love and life. These events provide an open space for real conversations about relationships, emotional wellness, and personal growth. I’m also growing my Keepsake Community, which is a supportive space where individuals can come together to engage in self-discovery, emotional wellness, and personal transformation. It’s not just a community; it’s a place for meaningful connections, learning, and growth. Whether through events, coaching, or online discussions, the Keepsake Community helps people unlearn old habits, relearn healthy emotional patterns, and thrive in their relationships. Beyond that, I’m also planning to publish a book and continue working with both corporate clients and youth to integrate emotional wellness into their personal and professional lives. I’m excited about what’s to come and how I can continue helping individuals and communities grow.
