The tech-savvy expert Zeke Wallace, portrayed by Arlen Escarpeta on Found, is back for Season 2, continuing to break barriers as his character pushes through agoraphobia. Viewers are in for a ride as NBC’s Found blends suspense with social relevance, keeping audiences on edge as each missing person’s case unfolds. With its complex characters and intense storylines, the show delves deep into the emotional and psychological toll on those searching for the lost.
One of the key themes in Found is the alarming disparity in how missing persons cases involving people of color—particularly Black individuals—are treated compared to other cases. According to the National Crime Information Center, Black people make up 40% of missing persons cases, despite representing only 13% of the U.S. population. This imbalance reflects a larger societal issue, where these cases often receive less media attention and fewer resources from law enforcement. The show sheds light on this underreported crisis, using its narrative to highlight the real-world injustices faced by marginalized communities.
From the script to the pilot, Escarpeta fell in love with his character and the plot of the show. Found has uniquely intertwined real societal issues, showcasing how people of color can sometimes be overlooked when they go missing. After reading the script, Escarpeta knew this role was meant for him.
“What really made me fall in love with Zeke and Found was number one, the script. It was written very well, and it grabbed a hold of me. By the time I got to the last page, I told myself I would love to be a part of something like this,” said Escarpeta.
With 22 episodes in Season 2, the show has captured not only Escarpeta’s heart but also that of its growing fanbase. Twitter, now known as X, has been buzzing since the first episode. The real-world issues discussed within the show make each episode even more compelling.
“I love the fact that we’re not just fast food TV; you really get some substance with us,” said Escarpeta. “Found addresses the issues at hand that people are really dealing with—being overlooked based on sex, race, creed, or sexuality.”
Zeke’s relationship dynamics continue to evolve with characters like Gabi, Lacey, and Dhan. Fans can expect to see these characters grow closer and develop further, particularly following last season’s cliffhanger, where Gabi realizes her kidnapper has escaped. “You’ll see those family dynamics definitely get challenged in Season 2. We will be closer with some people, and there’ll be lines divided with others,” said Escarpeta.
Playing the role of Zeke comes with many factors. Zeke is a dynamic character, and fans will see his character develop even more this season. As he navigates complex relationships and moral dilemmas, viewers can expect to witness his growth and the impact of past events on his choices.
For those who have yet to start Found, it is a binge-worthy show that viewers will find themselves gravitating toward. “Watch the first episode, and you’ll find yourself down a rabbit hole wanting more,” said Escarpeta. “Found delivers; it shows up, and it makes you feel everything you want to feel from TV. It brings you back to what you really loved about television. It’s special.”
