Due to the state of emergency for all of Georgia, declared by Governor Brian Kemp, the annual AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival & 5k Run scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Piedmont Park has been postponed.  As event organizers work to identify a new date, all are encouraged to continue to raise funds towards the $1 million dollar goal to support the 14 locally based non-profit organizations working tirelessly to address metro Atlanta’s growing HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Recent statistics from AIDSvu indicate that close to 7% of new HIV diagnoses nationally occur in Georgia and that metro Atlanta leads the state in new diagnoses. Like in many communities across the nation, there is more work to be done here.  The AIDS Walk Atlanta team is committed to securing a date to bring together the thousands of diverse individuals that already have registered to share the collective Atlanta community’s commitment to ending HIV/AIDS in Georgia.
