With a swagger to his own beat and waving his dreads proudly, Howard graduate and DMV native Heru The Violinist is garnering critical acclaim west to east coast for his astounding skill playing the violin recently. With a co-sign from streaming giant Audiomack, a nomination for a D.C. Mayor arts award, a Fox 5 D.C. appearance, and more groundbreaking accomplishments this year set up this phenomenal black musician as the next star coming from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region.

Names such as Marvin Gaye, Duke Ellington, Mya, Chris Brown, Missy Elliot, Brent Faiyaz, Ari Lennox, Wale, Ginuwine, Tank, and many more have given the DMV region prestigious acclaim as a hotbed for budding musical talent. Heru hopes to follow in their footsteps with his unique skill set and one of a kind aura.

His journey is inspired by wanting to be a role model for his own child and young black creatives worldwide who want to venture into the liberal arts without a fear of judgement due to your public image. He flashes his grills and smiles brightly with jewelry as a proud man who loves his black culture.
