Actress Leslie Black, who made her television debut in the hit show Metro, is achieving her goal of transforming the acting world. A love of writing as a child sparked her creative side, and she often told people she wanted to become a writer. This passion eventually led to her acting career when a friend studying theater offered her a part in a local TV show, where she excelled and found a new calling in acting. She loves how acting allows her to give life to different characters through her voice.

A South Carolina State University graduate, Leslie moved to Atlanta to advance her career. She’s recognized for her remarkable ability to fully immerse herself in her roles, bringing energy and authenticity to her performances, whether portraying a powerful leader or a slave.

Leslie draws inspiration from several people, including Ava DuVernay, whose career path she admires. She’s also excited about the opportunities streaming platforms provide to filmmakers.

Leslie will play the lead in the upcoming feature film The Perfect Love Storm. She has also been in television shows as a guest star on Chicago Med and as Sedi in Montross Blood Rules. She co-stars with Aaron Eckhart in Muzzle as Councilwoman Priscilla Cross and will reprise her role as Wanda in Will Packer’s miniseries Fight Night, starring Kevin Hart.

Beyond acting, Leslie is also a writer and producer. She created and starred in the short film Mommas last year and is set to star in Celia’s Cabin, premiering in 2024, where she also served as a writer. She also founded the innovative production company Staunch Films.

Looking ahead, Leslie aims to become a series regular in the next five years, while continuing to write, produce, and star in projects with hopes of securing network deals and theatrical releases. She is represented by Promote Talent, Exclusive Artist Agency, and Jana Van Dyke Agency. Follow Leslie Black on Instagram!
