The Hair Education and Beauty Summit (HEBS) gathered industry-leading stylists, top beauty brands, and over 1,800 attendees on July 7th and 8th for an immersive experience like no other. Sponsored by Pure O Natural Hair Products and Loc N Natural Hair Care Products and held at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, the 1st annual event brought together a melting pot of multicultural talent to deliver hands-on education on all aspects of hair care and beauty. Industry experts also discussed innovations in sustainable hair and skin, along with the trending looks they love.
“Positive energy, joy, and laughter [emanated] from our educators, competition winners, and individuals enjoying the music,” shared HEBS CEO Nicole Shuler. “The atmosphere welcomed everyone who shared a passion for education, beauty, and barbering, creating a sense of belonging. Witnessing the mutual support and love among everyone was a truly beautiful experience.”
For two full days, participants learned from recognized experts like Kim Kimble, Terrence Davidson, Kevin KirkPro, and Jay Majors. Stylists and barbers of all skill levels showcased incredible creativity in a series of themed contests that delighted and inspired event goers. Exclusive brand collaborations, live demos, and speaker panels educated guests on hair best practices. In-between activations, attendees took advantage of invaluable networking experiences, connecting with 60 brand exhibitors in the categories of hair care, skincare, makeup, and nail design.
In direct response to consumer feedback, Shuler also coordinated hands-on workshops and tutorials that offered guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to practice cutting-edge styling techniques alongside the best in the business. “Attendees not only watched live demonstrations but also got the chance to try out the techniques themselves, under the guidance of seasoned professionals. This interactive approach ensures that participants can immediately apply what they learn, making it a significant trend that could reshape the industry.”
Shuler is already receiving positive feedback from ticket holders, with plans to host another event May 4th and 5th of next year. “The majority of [attendees] expressed their novelty and appreciation for the breadth of knowledge available at the show. Many attendees conveyed that they had not previously encountered such a comprehensive learning experience under one roof.”
