With the 50th anniversary of hip-hop fast approaching, “50 & Forever”—the celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary from Amazon Music—will bring fans around the globe together for a series of live streams dedicated to the genre’s legacy and influence. Featuring exclusive performances, in-depth discussions, and broadcasts from hip-hop’s most iconic festivals, “50 & Forever” has curated an unmissable slate of content celebrating 50 years of hip-hop.
Sponsored by M&M’S®, the centerpiece of the “50 & Forever” livestream slate is a special-edition series of City Sessions concerts from hip-hop’s birthplace—New York City. Taking place on The Rooftop at Pier 17 at the Seaport in Lower Manhattan, and broadcasting live on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, these livestreams will kick off on July 20 at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT with a performance from esteemed rapper and songwriter Wale. Set against New York’s iconic skyline, Wale and a special guest will perform a one-of-a-kind set celebrating hip-hop’s monumental influence on music and culture. On July 28 at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT, “50 & Forever” will follow up that performance with a rare livestreamed performance from acclaimed hip-hop duo Clipse and rap luminary and record executive Rick Ross.
Fans will be able to attend each performance on The Rooftop at Pier 17 at the Seaport. In addition to live performances, fans will be able to experience an interactive, immersive installation celebrating hip-hop culture. Tickets are available now and can be purchased for $10 at ticketmaster.com. All proceeds will be donated to a charity of the artist’s choice.
