“Bid for Love 2”, the sequel to the BET Plus and BET Her Original movie “Bid for Love” has added nine actors to its returning ensemble cast. Clifton Powell (The Family Business), Eva Marcille (All The Queens Men), Cynthia Bailey (Cruel Instruction), Darrin Dewitt Henson (Double Cross), Erica Peeples (True to the Game), Angela White FKA Blac Chyna (The Black Hamptons), David Banner (Never Heard) Dreamdoll (Pretty Stoned), and Stephen Colfield (Harlem) have joined the film. Arthur Muhammad (Carter High) returns as the director.
They join lead Dawn Halfkenny (I Got a Secret to Tell) with the other original cast members Blue Kimble (Ruthless), Nikki Dixon (Hypnotic) Adrian Lockett (Heaux Phase) Jermel Howard (BMF), Ptosha Storey (The Oval), Mia Hunt (Mr. Mayor) with Kwaylon Rogers (BET College Hill: Celebrity Edition) and Jayda Cheaves.
The sequel follows reformed inmate Sasha (Halfkenny) who, unsuccessful at love, tries her hand at dating society’s idea of a stable man in Detective Carter (Howard) while still going to therapy. However, life comes at her fast as her mysteriously presumed dead ex-boyfriend Memphis (Kimble) returns to her life.
Lawainna Patterson and Sisters for Freedom are EPs. Returning as producers are Shauna D. Balfour, (Let Us Make Eve), London Williams (Natural Hair the Movie), and Howard (I Got Problemz) who is also serving as a producer on the sequel. Production completed in Dallas this May.
