If you have a child, or if you’re a fan of good movies, definitely make it a priority to go see Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. The film is based on a children’s book written by Bernard Waber, originally published in 1965, centered around a crocodile that lives in New York City… a singing crocodile at that.

And who better to play the voice of Lyle than pop star Shawn Mendes? The singer-songwriter shared to his 70.5 million followers on Instagram a post about the movie and its soundtrack, also revealing he wrote an original song called “Heartbeat” specifically for the film.

Sheen had the pleasure of attending an exclusive screening at AMC Century City 15 in beautiful Los Angeles, sitting inside a packed theater amongst kids and adults alike. The plot? The Primm family moves to New York City, as their son Josh faces obstacles adapting to his new school and making friends. But thankfully, a singing crocodile in their attic saves the day, bringing positivity and light not only to Josh’s life, but the parents (played by Constance Wu and Scoot McNairy). Academy-award winning actor Javier Bardem also stars in the film, playing a pivotal role in the turn of events that transpire.

But we’ll let you watch the film yourselves for the suspense. Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile hits theaters nationwide on October 7th.
