The African American Day Parade, Inc. (AADP), one of the largest and oldest parades of Black American culture, will be back in person Sunday, September 18th, 2022 for the 53rd Annual African American Day Parade 1pm-6pm. The pre-parade show is scheduled from 11am-1pm on 125th st and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd in Harlem, NY. Everything will also be hosted live in person. The 53rd annual parade will honor individuals and organizations that have made key contributions to the African American Community in the field of health as this year’s parade theme is “Good Health is Essential”.
These phenomenal leaders and trailblazers include Honorees Sandra Lindsay: Northwell Health, Dr. Pamela Abner: Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Gary Butts: Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Michelle Henry: Weill Cornell Medical College, Bernard Robinson: Northwell Health, Nicola Buchanan: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Behfar Ehdaie: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Louis Voigt: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, David C. Banks: Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education, and many more guests that have made a positive impact in the community.
“We are back in person and Good health is essential!” exclaimed parade Chairman Yusuf Hasan. “This year’s parade is special, after two years of being virtual, our communities are in a state of transition. This year, the parade will highlight and honor our healthcare workers”, the chairman continued.
