The platinum-selling rapper’s niece was fatally shot on July 20.

At around 12:30 a.m. in Miami, a triple shooting occurred in the area of Northwest 13th Avenue near 62nd Street in Liberty City, XXL reports. Miami Police discovered three victims, including a 17-year-old girl pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased victim, according to TMZ, has been identified as Trina’s niece, who is known as “Suga.” The other victims, with unknown conditions, were transported independently to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

In a statement released to XXL, Miami Police Department says that the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

“Today [July 20], at around midnight, we responded to the area reference a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a female with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased by MFR personnel,” the statement said. “Two additional victims also suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at JMH, but were transported independently. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.”
