When you have a conversation about the top fashion designers of our era, there’s no way you’re not including Shane Gonzales. Serving as the founder and creative director of Midnight Studios, a brand he built from the ground up and have been seen on all your favorite celebrities from A$AP Rocky to Lil Uzi Vert, the brand is inspired directly by Shane’s love for streetwear, skateboarding, and fashion. And now, he takes his brand to the El Rey in Los Angeles.
Upon arriving at the venue, crowds swarmed the front as they all attempted to get inside. This was Shane’s highly-anticipated runway show for his 2022 Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter collection, creating history as Midnight Studios’ first-ever runway show. And while the El Rey holds up to 771 people, the event hit capacity early on as guests were stuck outside, wishing they could get in.
The fashion lasted about 20 minutes, featuring all the crazy designs and trends that Shane created from his head onto the models who walked the runway. Celebrities sightings include Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy, IDK, Kaytranada, PnB Rock, Tyla Yaweh, and more. There were also t-shirts made to commemorate the legendary evening.
