The Weeknd’s dawn has arrived, and Gunna’s DS4Ever glides right behind it. Over the weekend, these two heavy hitters released their first albums of the year.
The Weeknd
Last year after putting the red-suit era to bed, the Canadian artist told the world, “The After Hours is done, and the dawn is coming.” Well, the dawn is here, bringing along colorful surprises and the classic Weeknd sound. The 16-track album, Dawn FM, combines pop, dance, funk and surprise appearances from Quincy Jones and Jim Carrey.
Gunna
Atlanta Rapper, Gunna, continues to bring the drip with his new album DS4Ever. A continuation of his mixtape series Drip Season, his new album is complete with nearly perfectly placed features from Lil Baby, Chloe Bailey and more. The fashionable musician also smoothly sings throughout the album, giving us a tune similar to fellow Georgia artist, Jacquees.
