From the runway to the court, fashion designer, Renee Hill is proving that age is nothing but a number.
Philly native and fashion trailblazer, Renee Hill eats, sleeps, and breathes fashion. Quickly rising to fame as a contestant on Season 17 of Project Runway, she’s been applying pressure to the industry with her luxury, ready-to-wear womenswear, and menswear brand, Harx4. According to Renee, it’s luxury and simplicity over everything, and she wants you to look and feel your best in anything you put on. SHEEN had the pleasure to chat with Renee about her career, inspiration, and tapping into athleisure.
When did you realize you wanted to pursue a career in fashion and design?
I started sewing in my twenties, and it just was natural for me. Growing up, my mother and grandmother made bridal and prom gowns, so I was always in a creative space. Sewing wasn’t something that I initially wanted to do, but I think it wasn’t placed in my subconscious until I became an adult. And once I became a Muslim, not being able to find comfortable and modest clothing was tough. So, I just started sewing. In 2016, I decided to go back to school to get more technical skills and also start my brand, Harx4.
