Over the weekend, television network EPIX revealed that the four-part docuseries By Whatever Means Necessary: The Times of Godfather of Harlem is set to premiere on November 8th, 2020.
The series is inspired by music and subjects featured in the network’s hit series, Godfather of Harlem. The docuseries will focus on the story of Harlem, the music during the ’60s, its history, and present time.
Interviews with stars of the original series, Forest Whitaker, Giancarlo Esposito, and Ilfenesh Hadera will be featured in the docuseries. In addition, artists such as Gladys Knight, Martha Reeves, Nile Rogers, A$AP Ferg, Chika, Joe Bataan, and Freddie Simone will be included as well!
We know that there will be archival footage and evocative imagery will be shared to display musicians the impact they have made in music and the history of Harlem.
This project is executive produced by Nina Yang Bongiovi, Forest Whitaker, and Keith McQuirter.
Godfather of Harlem is currently available to stream while the series’ second season will premiere this fall.
