Jesse Collins has just made history and has become the first black producer of the Super Bowl halftime show.
The Emmy-nominated producer now serves as executive producer alongisde partners Roc Nation and Pepsi.
Collins has helped shape stories around black experience in his work that includes the Soul Train Awards, CBS’ special John Lewis: Celebrating A Hero, Love & Happiness: An Obama Farewell, and the BET Awards.
In his official statement, Collins said, “It is an honor to be part of such an iconic show at such an important time in our history.”
Collins added, “I am grateful to JAY-Z, [Roc Nation chief operating officer] Desiree Perez, the entire Roc Nation family, and the NFL for granting me this opportunity.”
The Super Bowl LV Halftime Show will take place on February 7th, 2020 in Tampa, Florida!
