With everything that is going on with our current pandemic, it has been reported that adults have significantly worse mental health conditions than average.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported back in June that essential workers minorities, and young adults have increased substance use and suicidal ideation.

To confront these mental health issues and defeat the stigma that revolves around them, beauty brand Maybelline New York launched a philanthropy initative called Maybelline Brave Together. This new initative will officially go into effect on September 25th.

Maybelline has pledged to donate $10 million throughout the span of five years to global and local mental health organizations. According to the brand, this includes Crises Text Line, National Alliance on Mental Illness, and The JED Foundation.

In addition, Maybelline will deploy a resource site made digitally so that people can access digitally at any time. It will become avaliable in five languages (as of now) and include real-time tips from mental health experts.

Elyse Fox – founder of Sad Girls Club, Larissa May – founder of Half the Story, and psychotherapist, Liz Beecroft have all been confirmed on the roster.

Maybelline has even partnered with psychologist, Kathleen Pike who will release a report about anxiety and depression in Gen Z women.

Lastly, the brand will host a virtual panel, free of charge on World Mental Health Day on October 10th. Panelists have not been confirmed yet but we’re certain this virtual event will provide important information.
