The Black Lives Matter Movement declared July 7th, 2020 BLACKOUT DAY for consumers to spend their money with black owned businesses. The black community makes up over 1 trillion dollars of spending power. Around the globe people of different ethnicities, locations, and creeds was told to upload their receipts showing that they spent with black owned business, because we need to see the difference between BLACK OWNED and just a BLACK BUSINESS for black people.
Companies like Oyin Handmade, Curls Dynasty, and Blessed and Kech are black-owned in cities that offer some dope product. These are the business to stop by or just show love to.
Philadelphia aka Philly aka The City of Brotherly Love: FOOD
Rhythm and Brunch: A black owned food spot located in SW Philly. They have some bomb pineapple upside down pancakes, shrimp and grits, hot wings, and cauliflower bites for their vegan clientele.
Ms. Tootsies: A delicious soul food spot located off the historic South St., Ms. Tootsies serves up those southern tasty treats such as mac and cheese, collard greens, fried chicken, and waffles. They have two locations so make sure you check them out if you’re ever in Philly.
Houston aka Clutch City aka the Bayou City: BEAUTY/Health
