The streets and runways of the last few fashion weeks were overrun with denim whether vintage or a new pair of Levi’s. The crowds waiting in line were either in relaxed fit or boyfriend jeans. The seventies flare jeans were revisited with a tailored blazer to elevate the casual bottoms. Denim will be a definitive mainstay for the next few years, especially with the conscientious designer who can easily recycle denim from thirty years ago, a la Givenchy. The designer gave us the nineties with distressed denim fabric and frayed culottes with knee high boots.
Here are a few classic denim mainstays that all curvy girls should have in their wardrobe rotation and they’re perfect for this transitional season. These pieces will last beyond this year’s trend and will become your go-to garments in your closet!
Straight leg comfortable jeans:
This year the skinny leg is left behind for straight leg and wide flared silhouettes. Ripped and distressed in all the right places or wide with a slight flare, the super casual bottom can be feminine with a floral top or a blazer, like Givenchy’s Spring 2020 runway.
Think 90’s retro trend with belly skimming tops and super wide legs and paired with a great boot, sandal or heel.
Pair it with a tight-fitting bodysuit or sweater to accent your waist and let the jeans stay loose and comfortable.
Denim Dress:
For a dress that never goes out of style, the denim dress from Fashion to Figure is it. Effortless elegance that can be dressed up or down with a change in accessories or shoes, this dress hugs in all the right places. The stretch fabric hugs the body in all the right places and the tie belt accents the waist perfectly. Gold tones are in season for Spring 2020, so pairing this dark denim beauty with gold hoops and bangles can get you ready for lunch with the girls or use it as a duster over spring dresses on cooler days.
Jumpsuit:
Throw it on and go! The ease of dressing with a jumpsuit with the added bonus of comfortable denim. This Fashion to Figure jumpsuit will get your day started in classic style. A great traveling piece, this soft stretch denim fabric with flare leg silhouette feels like you’re wearing pajamas. Layer the jumpsuit with a blazer for casual Fridays or cooler Spring days.
