A woman of many hats! Those are the best words to describe Miami Tip. She’s an actress, author, entrepreneur, and of course you know and love her from the Love and Hip Hop franchise! We recently had the chance to sit down with Miami Tip to discuss all things entrepreneurship with her brand, Stay Fly in My Sleepwear, her love for Florida, and much more.

You moved to Florida at 10-years-old. What would you say is your favorite thing about entrepreneurship and opportunity in the state of Florida?

My favorite thing about entrepreneurship in South Florida is the fact that you can literally get anything in 24 hours. The fact that there are people who always need something at any time of the day gives entrepreneurs more leverage to be creative and come up with some kind of solution for anyone at any time which will eventually equal more money.

Why would you say motivating and empowering women is so important to you?

I come from an industry where it’s pretty much underlining competition between women and I’ve seen women fall out over of course money and other things that really only transpired because of the underlining competition. So watching how easy women can tear each other down when there is room for everybody just motivates me to empower women even more. We can all win and even more so when we are together!

What inspired Stay Fly in My Sleepwear?

Stay Fly In My Sleepwear started with an idea a friend gave me because I always wore onesies. I didn’t think it would work at first, so I only ordered 50 onesies and I had them sitting around for like two months. When I finally posted a live of me wearing one, I sold 250 the first day. That proved to me that this could work lol. So, I learned the strategy behind the e-commerce business and Thank God it has been very successful.

What are you working on now and what can we expect to see from you in the rest of 2021?

Right now, I am working on Turning my book “The Bottom Line” into a series. Between creating and writing that takes a lot of my time outside of coming up with new ideas and collections for Stay Fly In My Sleepwear.
