Multi-faceted artist and philanthropist Kev Choice releases his latest single and video, “God Is In All,” available now via Mind Music Entertainment. Download / Stream here.

Produced by Kev Choice himself & the legendary DJ D Sharp, who is also currently DJ for the Golden State Warriors as well as frequent DJ for acclaimed R&B singer Goapele, “God Is In All” is an uplifting anthem delving deep into the belief that the divine energy exists within everyone and everything and how we exemplify ourselves when we express ourselves fully and in an authentically. This song represents a fresh new sound for the Oakland-based pianist, M.C., producer, and composer. Kev Choice has collaborated with legends like Ms. Lauryn Hill and Too Short and played with the Oakland and San Francisco Symphonies.

“Releasing ‘God Is In All’ is a meaningful milestone for me. This song captures my journey toward becoming my higher self and recognizing the divine presence in everyone and everything. I hope it encourages listeners to see our shared connection and embrace their spiritual growth,” says Kev Choice.

The accompanying music video, directed by Oakland native Tony Vic, embodies a breathtaking fusion of hip-hop and high art. Both Kev Choice & Tony Vic meticulously crafted the concept to showcase the song’s musicality by blending live musicianship with the dynamic energy of hip-hop, seamlessly intertwined with the sophistication of modern dance and classical music. The video features rising star dancer Babatunji Johnson, who has danced in Misty Copeland’s movie “Flowers” and is part of the prestigious Alonzo King Ballet dance company, further showcasing the project’s dedication to artistic excellence.

This artistic blend reveals the inherent beauty and depth of hip-hop, elevating it to new creative heights. Compared to previous Kev Choice projects, this music video is a standout in terms of production quality and artistic vision. Every element—from the dancers and musicians to the leading lady and locations—was curated to create a visual and auditory masterpiece, reflecting the significant strides Kev Choice has made in his career. ABOUT KEV CHOICE

Kev Choice is a pianist, M.C., producer, composer, educator, bandleader, and community advocate, hailing from Oakland, CA. He started playing piano and rapping at age 11 at Oakland’s Westlake Junior High and graduated high school from Oakland’s Skyline High School. He went on to study music and obtain a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans and a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, both in Piano Performance. His music is a blend of styles he has been influenced by and studied from Hip-Hop, Jazz, Classical, Neo-Soul, R&B, and more. 

Kev has worked and toured the world with artists such as Ms. Lauryn Hill, Michael Franti, Goapele, Too Short, Ledisi, Martin Luther McCoy, The Coup, Zion I, DJ Quik, Dwele, and more. In 2010, he began to focus on his own music and band, Kev Choice Ensemble, He has produced 5 solo albums, including Social Distancing (2020). He has also independently released Oakland Riviera (2014), Love and Revolution (2015), 88 Steps to Eternity (2016), Social Distancing (2020), and collaboration projects with producer DJ Fresh, The Lush and Luxurious Vibes (2020), SEEDS 22: Truths & Roses (2021) with DJ Basta, and Tatu: The Trio Sessions (2021). He was commissioned to compose a work for the Oakland Symphony, Soul Restoration Suite in 2018 and In 2020 wrote a piece for San Francisco Symphony entitled “Movements”. Most recently, he released a new EP, “All My Love” (2024). 

He currently serves on and is vice-chair of the City of Oakland’s Cultural Affairs Commission. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Oakland Symphony and is President of the SF Chapter advisory board of the Recording Academy. He is currently a Project Coordinator with Elevate Oakland, a music education non-profit serving Oakland Public Schools and in fall 2024, will begin teaching as a professor in the music department at San Francisco State University.
